Valentino Fall 2014: Modest & Long Sleeve Maxi-dresses Continue To Dominate The Runway

Grazia Chiuri and Piepaolo Piccioli, the designers behind the latest collections, have breathed a new life into the house of Valentino.

The Pair have not only introduced a more modest approach to the runway, with long-sleeved maxi-dresses having a prominant presennce in their latest works, but their careful research into different Italian eras has shown through and their inspiration is clearly visible.

There is something for everyone. As Grazia Chiuri adds “It’s important to give people the freedom to be themselves,”. The Fall collection consolidated the feelings that choice and variety are staging a comeback in fashion for winter.

She and her design partner Pierpaolo Piccioli have conspired in widening the perspective at Valentino. It can now include the simple and reserved, the elaborate and the fragile, day clothes and party clothes, the teen ingenue and the ageless sophisticate.

A lot of these beautiful designs are modest and very suitable for hijab wearers. Here are my picks from the Fall Collection. (Click to enlarge image)
