Assalaamu Alaikum!
This is half of me ^ clinching my dress on the side. It was raining. There where puddles. It felt right. Anyhoot.
It was my baby-sister's birthday, yesterday. Well...she isn't a baby anymore, she turned 18! Wait, what?! Where has the time flown? Since when did she go from being the most loyal teletubbies fan to a grown woman?
Unacceptable. Secretly devastated.
Putting all that dwelling-in-the-golden-past business aside, I'm also immensely proud of her. I feel that she's taken on board allot of the life lessons which I learnt and grown from them, turning into a very mature, young lady-Mashallah.
Her coming of age also reminds me that we have all grown. Not least my parents. May Allah grant them, and the parents of anyone reading this, a long, healthy and prosperous life, ameen!
We dined out at Romano's in Dubai Mall. A cosey Italian place, tucked away, out of sight, behind the aquarium. Hubzy and I both went for our usual steak with lobster mash and asparagus. My brother and sister went for Lasagne and Chicken AlFredo, respectively. The food was good, although the steaks were burnt on the edges, ruining the taste. It was disappointing as it is usually my dish of choice when dining there.
I was dressed casually, flat shoes with earthy colours and an all round 'mama-Africa' type-vibe going on.
A beautiful night with my nearest and dearest. Perfect. Al Hamdullilah.
#OTD: shoes from Primadonna, skirt and scarf from Istanbul, belt from Zara, top from London, necklace from Splash and beautiful cardigan hand-knitted by my grandma (God bless her). Voila
